Boontonware Melmac Dinnerware and Melmac LIVES says Matthew Huisman....read this

Boontonware + Good Design = Melmac Love.
Boontonware Melmac
Good Design obvious at the DollyP shop on Etsy, full of cool Boontonware.
So after I took my Boonton, NJ Tour a few years back after my friend Derek Schultz passed away. His records stopped when Boontonware was being distributed by "English and English" in Boonton, NJ... I really wondered what ever happened to all the wonderful dish molds, where did they go? To the scrap yard?  To the recycling plant?  So sad.....or so I thought.

Then along came Matthew Huisman for the Star-Ledger with this great article that says Boontonware is alive and well.....and molded in OHIO....what the heck?

In the meantime, you can read more about Boontonware by visiting my factory tour:  http://retrochalet.blogspot.com/2014/01/boonton-melmac-factory-tour-stop-one.html
and seeing these great examples of boontonware!

Boontonware Melmac Meets a Troll : Hall of Shame melamine gravy ladle

I'm sure the seller means well, but I don't know about this wee troll will actually harm or help the sale of this melmac gravy boat.  Once made in Boonton, New Jersey, Boontonware really didn't need the antics of one, scary little beast to fly off the shelves.
Boontonware Melmac
For only $4.75, you can own this great find (but not the troll) at The Recycled Palace on Etsy.

My Cat Eats Out of Melmac

Blue Russian Cat
Masen the cat, an adopted Blue Russian loves nibbling out of melmac dishes.
Blue Russian Cat
The dogs use the vintage Texas Ware Confetti bowl, on left, and unfortunately, the cat uses a new-made-in-china melamine bowl.  The only reason we have this is it is the same size as a small pyrex mixing bowl, and was only 40 cents in the thrift shop.  Who can resist used melmac for 40 cents?

Blue Russian Kitty
Masen is a Blue Russian with green eyes. He's sneaky.

Both share water in a glass Pyrex mixing bowl.
